This is my first (and possibly last depending on whether or not I figure this site out) post. This blog will be dedicated to my discussion of films and television. Every couple of weeks or so I will dedicate my posts to a new case study. With the first case study being Akira Kurosawa. Kurosawa is my first choice because I have had his samurai box set (along with a couple of other films) sitting waiting for a viewing for ages now and my girlfriend is beginning to question my respect for him.
To begin, however, I am immediately going against my initial structure by dedicating two parts to my Kurosawa study which will span the month. Firstly, because I do really have quite a lot of his films to go through and I want to discuss as many of them as I can. Secondly, and I cannot stress this enough, it is going to take me a while to set up this confusing website properly.
Anyway, the first film I will be looking at will be Yojimbo. In the meantime, enjoy the above picture of Teide National Park and The Finger of God in Tenerife. The tour guide, who originated from Paisley, a town celebrated for its knowledge of Spanish National Parks, told me that the park has been the location for several film shoots including Star Wars, Wrath of the Titans, and the gem that is Fast and Furious 6.
